Why You Must Start Filing Your IRS Tax Extension Online?

Officially tax day or April 15 is the day many people hate in the US! Gathering all your financial documents, sorting out all your bills and receipts, calculating the tax you owe, filing a tax return theres simply so much to do! Especially, nothing can get more frustrating and tiring than filing the tax return form 1040 which has 77 lines to fill and a 189 page appendix to refer in order to fill! The very complexity and lack of time and patience to gather all the documents convince people not to fill these forms well before April 15. However, when the date is too nearby and theres nothing much they can do about it, a lot of people just give up on it and eventually end up paying penalties. Though most of these people are aware of the IRS tax extension scheme, they dare not to try it due to lack of awareness and knowledge.

Whether you are the owner of a business which is always at its peak during spring or a busy parent who just couldnt find time to file your tax returns, a businessman who wants a little more time to sort out his financial documents, or someone who had a health crisis and was unable to focus on tax; the reasons to fail to file tax returns before April 15 could be anything. This is why IRS permits an extension period of 6 months to file your tax returns, i.e. until October 15. Choosing to extend the due date to file tax returns is a wise choice to make if you are not ready with all the documents you need and also to avoid penalties and interests. By taking an extension you can find time to gather all the documents you need to file a perfect tax return file and maintain a good tax history. A good tax history establishes that you have a sound and stable financial background and makes it easy for you to claim loans and apply for Visas. Despite the provision of IRS tax extension is introduced completely for the benefit of people, one must note that it extends the time to only file a tax return and doesnt extend the tax payment duration itself. Even if you file a tax extension form before April 15, you are obligated to pay up the tax you owe before the same date to avoid any penalties and additional interests. And generally, the penalty for not filing a tax return and also not filing an IRS tax extension before this date is 5% per month to a maximum of 25% of the balance due.

A Ray of Hope Solar Power Homes

by

thomasgalvin

The use of solar energy dates back to 7th century B.C. when magnifying glasses were used to light fire. Since then the sun rays have become an integral part of human lives and the human mind has been consistently developing innovative methods to utilize

solar power for homes

and the benefit of mankind. At a time when alternative forms of energy is the solution to cut the carbon emission rate, all kinds of experiments are being conducted with light to create multiple usage of solar energy. Since it is the safest form of energy available and is completely hassle free one cannot think of overlooking the benefits of solar energy.

Today we are in the 21st century and through consistent developments in the sphere of solar energy, we have managed to create abundant usage of it in our day to day lives. Solar energy has grown multitudes in all these years and has made a place in the life of those who are concerned about the environment.

Solar power for homes

too has developed from its prehistoric usage when humans used to cook their food over stones heated by the rays of sun. Portable solar panels for houses can run the entire house without any external source of energy. Be it cooking or lighting, solar energy provides sufficient energy to run all household devices. As per solar power information, the prices of these devices have considerably shot down in the last few years which give an insight into the significance of this form of energy. It is predicted that the solar panel price will further decline as renewable energy is the need of the hour.

In the third world countries, the portability of solar energy has come as bliss. Places where there was no scope for electricity is now completely equipped with devices that run on solar energy. Scientists around the globe are continuously working on technologies to attain maximum efficiency out of solar devices. Till date, the maximum efficiency of a solar device is 20% which is far less than what can actually be obtained in the form of energy. Developments in this field may take some time but is certain as several great minds at work are determined on achieving it. People today can be completely self-reliant if they possess the power of renewable energy as he/she would not have to depend on any other external source, for their bit of energy consumption.

Vestas Wind Systems, whose closing wind turbine blade manufacturing centre in Newport, Isle of Wight, England remains the site of a occupation now in its 11th day, has suddenly announced that the consultation period preceding the closure of the plant has been extended, and that the plant will remain open until mid-August.

The announcement, which was reported not by Vestas but by the RMT, was described by RMT General Secretary Bob Crow as “another significant milestone in the fight to save the factory and 625 skilled manufacturing jobs in green energy.” The plant had been due to close today.

News of the delay comes hours after confused reports that Vestas was withholding redundancy payment for at least 525 of the workers whose jobs were lost. According to a report by the local newspaper the Isle of Wight County Press, cheques which employees had been expecting today did not arrive; instead, workers who contacted Vestas management were told they would not receive payment until an interview process had been completed, and that if they began new jobs before the interview process was over they would not receive their money. However, according to Ventnorblog, a local Isle of Wight blog which has been following the Vestas closure closely, the layoff process was being delayed because a majority of the Vestas employees were refusing to agree to the management’s redundancy plan.

The delay of the closure allows more time for the negotiation of potential solutions for the Newport plant to remain open. The Vestas occupiers and labour groups continue to favour nationalisation of the plant, with Socialist Party spokesman Nick Chaffey saying:

The courageous stand of the Vestas occupation and the huge support that stands alongside it from Vestas workers and beyond has rocked management and the government. With the vital support of the RMT and wider support from the trade union movement including PCS, POA and FBU, the workers’ demand for nationalisation is the only way to resolve this crisis.

In addition to the Vestas occupiers’ proposal that the factory be nationalised, Caroline Lucas, the MEP for South East England and a member of the Green Party, has proposed that Vestas employees should form a workers’ co-operative with government aid in order to keep the plant running. The Tory-dominated Isle of Wight Council has unanimously endorsed a resolution saying that the plant should stay open, and has called for new investors to take the Vestas plant over, as was done at a smaller Vestas plant in Scotland recently.

The news of the delay comes as workers at the plant accused Vestas management of harassing the families of the 24 remaining occupiers of the plant. Families of some occupiers were served with legal papers at their homes. One of the occupiers, Luke Paxton, left the factory on Thursday night in order to be re-united with his family; Paxton was checked for malnutrition and low blood sugar by paramedics but was not hospitalized, instead opting to go home. Paxton complained that Vestas management, while now providing hot food to the occupiers, were still under-feeding them; the RMT, which is providing legal aid to the Vestas workers, has accused Vestas management of violating the Human Rights Act by attempting to “starve the workers at Vestas into submission”.

Protesters in fancy dress were successful in sending food into the plant yesterday. Protesters dressed as a fantasy wizard and can-can dancers distracted police and company security guarding the fence which has been erected around the site while other protesters flung a bag of food and an electric kettle onto the balcony outside the office which has served as the occupiers’ home base inside the factory. No arrests were made but the protesters were removed from the factory grounds.

Requests for comment from Vestas management received no reply.

Your home or business can easily become infested with a variety of pests including several types of insects, furry little rodents and even birds, bees and bats. The difficulty with unexpected Pest Control in Glen Burnie isn’t the unusual pests that invade your property, but the unique methods that each pest requires to eliminate the problem. For example, eliminating insects such as the cockroach is usually handled by a series of chemical applications designed to remove successive generations as the young hatch. Rodents on the other hand require the application of baits and traps to properly remove the problem.

Pest problems in your buildings can vary based on several different variables including the location of moisture, a ready source of food and a secure place to build a nest. Consider the termite. This is a small, whitish, pale or lightly colored insect with a social structure similar to the ant. However, the termite is no longer considered as a member of the ant species. Instead, it is considered as the infraorder Isopertera of the cockroach order Blattodea. You rarely see this insect outside of the nest and an experienced Pest Control in Glen Burnie contractor will need to find the nest and apply the proper baits for the termites.

Termites come in literally thousands of species, many of which actually perform a useful function in the wild, the breakdown and removal of dead plant matter, scientifically labeled as cellulose. Unfortunately, much of the material we build our homes with uses wood fibers and the termites aren’t smart enough to know they should find a different food source.

Another home invader that can be difficult to eliminate are rodents such as mice and rats. These pests usually enter your home or business through cracks in the walls or doors or holes that they gnaw away with their sharp front teeth. Once they have entered the building they quickly begin to build their nest in the warmer walls where they will birth their young. Mice and rats breed a lot and those new generations will soon find even more places to nest in the walls of your home which is why you should consider hiring an experienced contractor like Accutech Pest Management for your next pest elimination project.

New Jersey has reversed its plans for a state-wide ban on bikini waxing after salon owners from across the state spoke out against the proposal.

The New Jersey Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling planned to consider a ban on so-called “Brazilian waxes” in response to two women who reported being injured during a wax.

But state Consumer Affairs Director David Szuchman, who oversees the board, asked them to abandon the ban in favor of reviewing and establishing safeguards for those who provide the service.

“Many commentators have noted that the procedure could be safely performed,” Szuchman wrote in a letter to state board President Ronald Jerome Brown, according to the Asbury Park Press. “I, therefore, believe that there are alternative means to address any public health issues identified by the board.

Salon owners from across the state expressed relief with Szuchman’s decision.

“It was an unnecessary issue,” spa owner Linda Orsuto told the Associated Press. “In New Jersey especially, where the government has been picking our pockets for so long, it was like, ‘Just stay out of our pants, will you?'”

Although millions of Americans get bikini waxes, which generally cost between $50 and $60 per session, the practice comes with risks. Skin care experts say the hot wax can irritate delicate skin in the bikini area, and result in infections, ingrown hairs and rashes.

Waxing on the face, neck, abdomen, legs and arms are permitted in New Jersey. Although state statutes have always banned bikini waxing, the laws are seldom enforced because the wording is unclear.

If the measure had passed, New Jersey might have become the only US state to ban the practice outright.

Although Szuchman’s letter was crafted more as a recommendation than an order, media reports said the ban would likely never be approved without his support because his office oversees the board.

The president of Egypt has suffered a “devastating blow” after the country’s army announced they would not use force against their own people, who continue to protest against the government tonight. The news came hours after six journalists who reported on the protests were released from custody.

Hosni Mubarak yesterday announced a new cabinet, which does not include several figures who protesters largely do not approve of. Analysts have, however, suggested little had changed within the government; many positions, they say, are filled with military figures.

To the great people of Egypt, your armed forces, acknowledging the legitimate rights of the people … have not and will not use force against the Egyptian people.

In a statement broadcast on state media in Egypt, the army said: “To the great people of Egypt, your armed forces, acknowledging the legitimate rights of the people … have not and will not use force against the Egyptian people.” A BBC correspondent in Cairo said the announcement meant it “now seems increasingly likely that the 30-year rule of Mr Mubarak is drawing to a close.”

“The presence of the army in the streets is for your sake and to ensure your safety and wellbeing. The armed forces will not resort to use of force against our great people,” the statement added. “Your armed forces, who are aware of the legitimacy of your demands and are keen to assume their responsibility in protecting the nation and the citizens, affirms that freedom of expression through peaceful means is guaranteed to everybody.”

Earlier today, six journalists from the independent news network Al-Jazeera were released from custody after being detained by police. The U.S. State Department criticized the arrests; equipment was reportedly confiscated from the journalists.

Egyptian officials yesterday ordered the satellite channel to stop broadcasting in the country. Al-Jazeera said they were “appalled” by the government’s decision to close its Egyptian offices, which they described as the “latest attack by the Egyptian regime to strike at its freedom to report independently on the unprecedented events in Egypt.”

In a statement, the news agency added: “Al-Jazeera sees this as an act designed to stifle and repress the freedom of reporting by the network and its journalists. In this time of deep turmoil and unrest in Egyptian society it is imperative that voices from all sides be heard; the closing of our bureau by the Egyptian government is aimed at censoring and silencing the voices of the Egyptian people.”

On Friday, Wikinews reported the government had shut off practically all Internet traffic both out of and into the nation, as well as disrupting cellphone usage. A spokesperson for the social networking website Facebook said “limiting Internet access for millions of people is a matter of concern for the global community.”

A reported 50,000 campaigners, who are demanding the long-time leader step down and complaining of poverty, corruption, and oppression, filled Tahrir Square in Cairo today, chanting “We will stay until the coward leaves.” It is thought 100 people have so far died in the demonstrations. Today there have been protests in Suez, Mansoura, Damanhour, and Alexandria.

Speaking to news media in the area, many protesters said the new cabinet did little to quell their anger. “We want a complete change of government, with a civilian authority,” one said. Another added: “This is not a new government. This is the same regime—this is the same bluff. [Mubarak] has been bluffing us for 30 years.”

In Tahrir Square today, protesters played music as strings of barbed wire and army tanks stood nearby. Demonstrators scaled light poles, hanging Egyptian flags and calling for an end to Mubarak’s rule. “One poster featured Mubarak’s face plastered with a Hitler mustache, a sign of the deep resentment toward the 82-year-old leader they blame for widespread poverty, inflation and official indifference and brutality during his 30 years in power,” one journalist in the square reported this evening.

Neurological complications such asintracranial hypertension, cranial neuropathies, encephalomyelitis, radiculitis and encephalopathy could develop if Lyme is untreated.

Lyme disease is an infection that is transmitted to humans after being bitten by an infected tick. The early symptoms of Lyme disease include a characteristic rash that appears around the part of the body where the bite occurred, fever, chills, headaches, muscle and joint pains, and swollen lymph nodes. Lyme disease shares symptoms with more common illnesses and as a result people that have contracted it end up using inappropriate treatments or miss getting treatment entirely. Lyme disease, when left untreated, can lead to severe complications. In the second stage of Lyme disease, neurological complications like numbness, severe headaches, and visual disturbances may occur. The following are some of the neurological complications of Lyme disease:

Radiculitis

One of the first neurological complications that can be caused by Lyme disease is a painful radiculitis. Pain that radiates through the distribution of a nerve’s dermatome is defined radiculitis. Characteristic of the early stages of infection, this condition may start to appear as early as the first weeks. Patients generally experience sensory, motor and mixed symptoms and conditions such as weakness and sudden reflex and sensory changes. These symptoms are very similar to and are often mistaken for nerve-impingement symptoms.

Skull neuropathies

Cranial neuropathies involve the patient’s cranial nerve or the nerves involved in processing sensory perceptions such as sights, smells, sounds and others. As Lyme disease progresses the multiple cranial nerves of can all be affected at the same time in someone infected with the disease. Only 50-70% of people who have neurological problems will have complications.

High blood pressure in the brain

Intracranial hypertension is a rare neurological disorder connected with Lyme disease. Children experience it more often than an adult. Headaches and papilledema are common side effects associated with intracranial hypertension. Papilledema, the swelling of a patient’s optic disc, develops over a span of a few hours to a few weeks. In some cases, abnormalities in Cerebrospinal Fluid may also occur.

Inflammation of the brain and spinal cord

Encephalomyelitis usually includes brainstem abnormalities and sometimes resembles ischemic patterns. There is some evidence from medical sources that implies parenchymal involvement Cerebellar syndromes, motion disorders, hemiparesis, and spastic paraparesis are all indicators of this complication. You’ll find this problem more often in Europe than in North America.

Are you at all familiar with Encephalopathy?

Encephalopathy is one of the most common complications that occurs in the later stages of Lyme disease. This complication causes changes ranging from minor to severe in the patient’s cognitive functions and polyradiculoneuropathy. Late stage infections, such as encephalopathy, are often associated with extreme fatigue, difficulty sleeping, severe irritability, photophobia, erratic mood swings, word-finding difficulties, and also problems communicating through verbal speech or the written word. Also reported are problems with sensory perception. The symptoms are varied and inconsistent in which sometimes they can be experience and gone at other times.

Early identification of the symptoms of Lyme disease and administration of immediate treatment are the best ways to prevent it from developing into worse neurological complications.

On October 14, 2008, Canadians will be heading to the polls for the federal election. New Democratic Party candidate Don Davies is standing for election in the riding of Vancouver Kingsway.

A lawyer, he has spent the last 25 years fighting for human rights. A two-time student government representative, Davies was involved in the anti-apartheid, third world and peace movements. Admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1989, Davies and family moved to Vancouver in 1991, where he became the Director of Legal Resources for Teamsters Canada (Local 31), the next year. He is a long-time volunteer for children’s charity Variety, is Chair of the Parent Advisory Council at Mount Pleasant school, and a Director of the Meridian Cultural Society, among other things.

Wikinews contacted Don Davies, to talk about the issues facing Canadians, and what they and their party would do to address them. Wikinews is in the process of contacting every candidate, in every riding across the country, no matter their political stripe. All interviews are conducted over e-mail, and interviews are published unedited, allowing candidates to impart their full message to our readers, uninterrupted.

The riding is vacant, after Conservative Minister of International Trade David Emerson’s resignation. Emerson was elected in 2004 as a Liberal, serving as the Minister of Industry. Two weeks after re-election in 2006, he crossed the floor to join then-new Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who had won a minority government. Emerson was the first MP in Canadian history to cross the floor before a new government was sworn in. He has stepped down, after pressure from other parties.

Besides Davies, major party candidates include Liberal Wendy Yuan, Conservative Salomon Rayek, and Green Doug Warkentin. Also putting their hat in the ring are Matt Kadioglu (Libertarian), Kimball Cariou (Communist), and Donna Peterson (Marxist-Leninist).

For more information, visit the campaign’s official website, listed below.

This Saturday at 11 am, Davies will host NDP leader Jack Layton in the Commodore Ballroom at “rally4change”.
